A structural inspection comprises a visit to the property, to ascertain the adequacy of its structural elements, and the preparation of a Structural Report. The inspection is generally limited to a visual appreciation of areas already exposed, with no damage being caused to the building’s fabric and no excavations being carried out to reveal building foundations. Such intrusive investigations would normally form part of a follow-up inspection, if this were considered necessary.
